Bought a '98 Sea Ray with a Merc 125 last summer. Ran great, then began stalling when I put it into gear,
This May I took it to a shop and had a full service done on the motor - tune, sync & link, etc. They said they found oil in the carbs - that the previous owner had probably run out of gas and the oil injection kept injecting as they tried to start it with no gas.
Took it out on the lake and it ran great. Two weeks later, it started the day well but began to stall as I put it into gear. Today, the problem was horrible, especially as the day wore on.
The idle speed seems low - about 800rpm - not sure if that's the issue.
The shop that did the work is a 2 hour drive. Anyone have an idea what I can try before hauling it back there?
