This forum has been just great. Finally finishing Chrysler Courier 231 restoration. I have a carb question. 1979 115 HP outboard. two-carb set up. Great vids by Frank Acompa for set up!. Anyway, I took the carbs apart and they look pretty good. swapping out inlet idle needles and seats. Found the seats to be "pressed-in". Is there a ring that I can replace at the bottom of that seat? I just cant seem to see one, if there is.

Thanks musch

The Force carbs/seats came 2 ways.
#1 came with a solid seat and a needle with a rubber tip.
#2 came with a solid needle and a seat with a rubber o-ring in the seat.

#1 the rubber tip can deform and cause a leak.
#2 certain solvents and additives can swell the rubber and plastics shutting off the fuel supply.
Replacing a ring? Why does it need replacing?

Thank you. Pressed seat, solid needle, no - ring though... unless they're just missing. Runs great thought.

My eye sight isn't what it used to be. Im sure that you are right. I just cleaned it up and put it back together and it ran great. Like your post said... not much to wear-out there.
Thank you for your expertise
