hello, i sea trialed a boat with a 2004 honda 225 4 stoke.

the oil pressure was at 7 psi at idle and 30 under way. Is that normal?

also, boat would only go 35 mph at wot. its a 2004 24' sea chaser walk around. the motor did not seem as strong as my 150HP yamaha 2 stoke.

Please help. i need to make an offer on the boat quickly. thanks, dale

Re: quick question

Before you lay down on this unit ,it would be nice to have it scanned to know the exact hours of operation or any DTCs that have not been cleared. Those oil pressure numbers are not impressive but I do'nt know where they are getting them from or the gauge that is reading them.

Re: quick question

Hondon, when you say lay down. do you mean lay down the cash? or give up on it?

I like the boat but ive never owned a big boat or a honda four stoke.

Is the honda as good as people say?

thanks
dale

Re: quick question

Out of all you guys, and 39 views. someone has to know the normal operation oil pressure of a 2004, 225 honda.

Is 7 psi at idle "on the boat gauge" enough to make me not buy the d*#m thing. ive read almost every word here and can not find out. Local dealer would not answer as well.
