It's a LIFT-A-CAR 3,000lb capacity model (No. 767). Y'all know anything about those? I was looking for a seal kit, and it seems older than I thought it was. 1960s, or maybe a decade or two older even.
I picked it up at a local junk shop to help my son change the rear axle on his Maxima ($30 maybe?? or was it $60?). We had to add some oil at one point (used 30 weight motor oil if I'm not mistaken). I used it some after that, and then it failed at some point. Don't know if the oil we put in ruined it or what. He was using it when it went.
I might rebuild it if I can find the right seals. I'm inquiring into that now. I was thinking it was scrap metal otherwise, but if it's from the 40s or 50s, that's kind of cool.
