Hi everyone,

I have a 98 Baja outlaw 7.4L merc.
Everything was working fine and now it will not fire. Engine turns over great.
Good fuel pressure
New starter
New coil
I have good voltage at the ignition/ safety switch. I swapped a circuit breaker so it’s not that. Any help is appreciated.

Your kill switch flipped OFF maybe?

Its normally either on the shifter or next to it. The kill switch is required on all small boats for many years. It would have a teather cord attached to it and the other is on the driver incase they get thrown overboard

Your boat might not have one since your asking

Oh that one I see, after checking the v at all the wires off of the safety switch and ignition I found that there is a break in power somewhere on the purple wire between the ignition and where it meets the coil and alternator. Instead of searching I ran a new wire and the boat is starting again!
