Merc 70 Motor sat for 2 years

Checked it over and hooked to a used 5 yr marine combo starting/deep cycle battery (battery worked fine last year trolling minnkota)

Merc 70 Starter relay picks and clicks but no starter bendix spin

Power trim relays picks and clicks but trim motor wont spinup

Jumpered to my garden tractor battery no difference

Any ideas before i go buy a new marine battery ??????

Anything that would allow relays to pick but no starter rotation?

Terminals have been cleaned with wire brush

sounds like a bad solenoid..click is good but if no power going over ..the starter may be stuck...spray some silcone oil on the top of it wack it with a hammer a little ,,wack the bottom too...maybe the brushes are tuck a little..... I replaced my stater solenoid ..they were under 30..and everything was good after that.

Power is switching on all relays per voltmeter check

12v on relay output

Starter a little gunked .

Got starter to spin but not very fast engaged once but wont crank the engine

Still no trim tilt motor response cannot hear that motor run

Tried to jumper starter directly with heavy 6 guage battery cables same result slow spin

Either:

1. bad starter and bad trim motor......

2. Or bad battery

Measured voltage at starter with cheap harbor freight voltmeter showed 12.4 under load

5 Years old I may just go buy a new battery I use this one trolling a small rowboat do not want to have to row 2 miles back to the dock

This combo starting/deep cycle duralast battery served me well

Have you cleaned the battery posts and the ends of the battery cables?

All Terminals have been cleaned with rotating drill wire brush cable ends and batt screws

Same result with battery cable jumpers in parallel
