Ok, this is all new territory to me, so if the question sounds dumb sorry. I have not gotten a manual yet...working on it.I just picked up a bass tracker with a merc 40 hp. I want to replace the fuel lines as well as a bunch of other stuff, but I cant access some of the hoses. I can get the very top of the motor off, I can get the piece that wraps the around motor off,and this will expose the top of the hoses, but what about the outer casing that goes down to the prop (this is the base of the motor all the way down...one piece) Is there a way to get this off? or is it going to be a major chore? Thanks, bear with me I know my questions might be dumb, but if I dont ask I wont know how to do it.
Thanks,
Dave
by the way if it matters this is a 1981 motor.

Hey Dave, welcome to iboats.
The only questions that I have found to be dumb, are the one's that are never asked.
Since this is a Mercury outboard, let me move it there for you.
Again, welcome to iboats.
