Do you have a pic? I own a 1965 17' Cobia and replaced all the wood parts a few yrs ago. The real surprise was a 1/2" ply core in the bottom with 1/4" glass skin on each side. This construction is maybe 4-5X more beef than most 17's. It was the only rot free wood left but I had to tear it out to know for sure. Otherwise the stringers, floor and transom were done like most production boats of the era.
