I aquired this boat from a friend when he had a new baby on the way and didn't have any time to complete the project himself. I'm hoping to have it finished in the spring so that I can get some fishing in this year, But I need to figure out who the manufacturer is so that i can register it.
About all that I know about it is that it is a pre-1972 hull so it has no ID plate and it is a 16' boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pictures Of Project

I can't tell much from the pictures, but it looks like an old Boston Whaler with the rounded bow. The owners don't know what it is?
Well maybe derwood or one of the other's will pop in here and shed some light.
Good luck.

Anyway to register it as a homebuilt or "unknown". The registration that came with my 14' alum. boat which is a '76 or '72 one just said Unknown for mfr. It worked here in Ga at least once.

Re: Need Help With Boat ID

The previous owner that I got it from inherited it when his dad passed away and didn't know a whole lot about it just that his dad had bought it new and it had never been registered as they owned property on a lake in the kootenays and never took it anywhere else. He loaded it onto a homebuilt trailer that a friend of his dad's built for it and towed it back to the island where it proceded to sit and grow trees in the flooring. I picked it up from him for $50 including both motors and the trailer and have spent the last 5 years figuring out what to do with it as I had a little bit of time on my hands.

At least with finding this forum it has given me lots of insight on all the little repairs I have to finish before it's done but will hopefully have it finished come spring and will get some fishing done. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get out and get some better pictures if it would quit raining for an afternoon.
