Well I had a 2000 75 HP merc 3 cylinder never any issues with it, but was getting old so I bought a new 2021 75 HP merc 4 cycle guess in 2021 it was. WOW what a differance in gas millage so far just love the new Merc hope it holds up as good as my old Merc.

Better MPG but weight is more, so top end is probably less. My guess is your not worried about top end

Were you not tempted to get the larger HP version of that engine ? The 75-115 are all the same engine and weight. So although it’s weight is exceptionally little for a 115…it’s perhaps on the heavy side for a 75 version. Exceptionally powerful things, I’ve found The CT version is brilliant
