PS You are correct about confusing parts for the water pump!

A newer lower unit had been installed by a previous owner.----They neglected to fit the water pump from the 69 model to this newer unit.----Not everything is --" the same "---year to year.-----Upper bearing housing was round on newer gearcases.---Square on original.

Posting stuff from 11 years ago is not really permitted. Just describe what videos you saw and possibly post the link and then thank the original poster.

Some of us advisers are very dumb (such as myself) and don't catch that they are reading other posts that have nothing to do with what you need.

Please make a note of that.

That being said, the amount of time that guy put into videos was insane.
