How to disable quick start on 96 Johnson 150

I need to set my timing with quick start disconnected.

Why does the manual show the motor firing @ 6 degrees after TDC,
and 19 to 20 degrees btdc
(it's always before TDC for automobiles.)
Mine is idling warm at 6 degrees btdc @ 800 rpm

It is a 2 stroke and not a 4 stroke automotive engine.----You have to set aside automotive thinking.----Idle RPM is controlled with timing retard.----Throttle plate has calibrated opening because it needs to let a certain amount of fuel in.----That fuel has the oil to keep engine lubricated.----Blunt statement here.----Stop adjusting things using trial and error.
