It's been almost 4 years since Dad passed.

However 2-3 years prior he brought down the fishing barge that we went fishing in for decades.

The old gal came with the gale 12 hp that is on there and two old mercs. A Mark 7 and a Mark 20 that I have long since sold as they never really were used.

The old gal will get pressure washed, wire-brushes on the inside and will get a new coat of interior paint. The exterior will get sanded down, and a new coat of rustoleum.

The trolling motor will be gone over.

The gale, while it runs will be turned into wall art.

I have a 1972 Merc 200 going on the boat

Today, the old cover was removed and about 1000 hornets were mad.

Pics as it sits. Awaiting new bow mounting hardware

The boat will be restored as a tribute to dad. It will be made functional and will get two decals.

The name "little boat" which was Dad's name for it since he referred to the other boats as the big boat

And a duplicate of his tombstone

Nice tribute to your dad.
Lost my pop in 2013.

Here's a picture of him in his Lund Rebel. He loved that boat....fished in it every day.

A real memory keeper. Thanks for sharing. My folks passed 8 years ago - we keep their memory alive at the summer house.

That 1972 Merc may not like salt water so much, since I believe the drive shafts weren't SS 'til the late 1970's. Probably an easy swap if you can find a stainless drive shaft.

Thanks guys.

thinking about the memories......this boat has been pulled behind the following since its been in the family:
1969 Plymouth Satellite
1974 Opel Manta
1976 Dodge W150
1976 plymouth fury wagon
1974 Pontiac GTO
1978 Opel Manta
1981 Chev Malibu wagon
1988 Chevrolet Astro Van
1984 Chrysler minivan
1991 Dodge minivan
1992 Chevrolet Astro Van
1994 Mazda wagon
1996 Dodge 2500
1998 Chevrolet Astro Van
1985 S-10
2000 Dodge Durango
2008 VW Jetta sportwagon TDI
2014 GMC Sierra 1500

there probably is a vehicle or two that I forgot as Dad often bought beaters for his daily driver

Gramps pulled the boat behind his buick wagon (I think 1981) and his various sheet metal work vans (old Ma Bell vans) when he would borrow the boat

Before that I only know of the old neighbor Pat that Dad bought the boat from which was an old Nash Rambler.

I believe its been towed more than 30,000 miles

The trailer is original, the hubs are original..... two of the tires are 35 years old, two are 10 years old. I think the two wheels may be original to the trailer as there are 4 different colors of paint on them. the other two wheels were purchased from Fleet Farm

Its been used on many of the rivers and lakes in Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota. It has been in the bay of Green Bay, lake Winnebago and will soon be in the rivers down here in Florida.

Mark, thinking the boat may be relegated to Lake Manatee for bass and bluegill (Brim), however we can take the Rogue out in Terra Ceia or my bud's Sundeck

Thinking a paddle boat would be better than trying to fish out of a two person non fishing kayak, wife will not wade the bars anymore just because of some nurse sharks that were cruising the flat.

last few weeks have been dealing with RSV and other head colds, Mom's birthday, a hurricane or two

weather is starting to get conducive to sanding off the old paint.
