I need to buy a new propeller for my GXL. It has the 5.0 Volvo V8. Does anyone have a prop they have purchased for this setup that worked great for you?

I use the boat to pleasure drive on a lake or pull my kids on a tube. No water skiing or other sports.

Thanks!

What gear Ratio does you outdrive have? Also which 5 liter do you have. Carbed or Fuel Injection, and do you know the WOT rpm range the engine requires?
Also how long is this Glastron GLX, as I see several different GLX models?

Good morning. I just looked into the numbers on my equipment.

I have a Mercury Alpha One with final drive of 1.62.

The current propeller is a Solas “ME 49 20”, “1511-148-17”

The engine is the 5.0 fuel injection Volvo.

It’s a 23’ 2008 Glastron GXL.

In your initial post it is a Volvo, in the most recent it is Mercrusier drive, with a Volvo engine. Is this something that you or a previous owner cobbled together?

On the outboard, it says Merc Alpha One.

I’m hoping for propeller help, not testing my boat knowledge. I’m new to this!

Well, a lot of info is needed when trying to help someone select a prop. It complicates it when you give conflicting/confusing info. Volvo Penta and MerCruiser are two different Brands, and while they may share the same Basic GM Engine Block for some engines, there are many other Parts that might or might not interchange.
At some point in the past, everyone on this board was a New Boater.

How long have you owned this boat?
Can you post a few pictures, of the engine and of the outdrive?

This is the propeller that just got damaged.

I’m going to order that same prop but would love to hear thoughts on a better choice. I’m going to order a second one in stainless steel. Any specs or thoughts any of you have are appreciated.

I did ask for pic of the engine.
That prop is repairable
What Rpms were you getting at WOT?
Well, Stainless Props are Neat. When they hit something they don't break. They may tear, but they just keep hammering until they become a spinning Ball of metal. By not bending as much, they allow more of the Impact to be absorbed by the rest of the Drive Train. Bent Propshafts are quite common

After repair, it is the one on the Port side
