I know these boats are not well known and hard to find. I recently purchased one from a chap here is SW florida and love this little bugger. Yeah, I can't fit a gazillion people on it, yeah it's not very fast, yeah I can't put a porta a potty in it, but....It's paid for, it fits in my garage and the 50hp 4 stroke Honda runs like a champ. surprisingly, factor specs say it can hold 6 people and up to 2k pound. I find that amazing.
For those familiar with this boat, would I be asking for trouble putting a 4 stoke 60hp outboard on it? The current motor weighs approx 215 lbs and a newer 60hp Suzuki 4 stroke is in the 235lb range. Wondering if that 20lbs+ would make a huge difference?
By myself at 5k RPMs it tops at 27mph.
I once read a post that rendovas run like a "scalded cat" with a 50hp engine. I feel like that may be a bit of a stretch and also feel like this little bugger can stand at 35mph, no problem.
Am I out of my mind? Any thoughts?
