I'm attempting to document a floor recovering in the "restoration" forum and had some Stingray specific questions that nobody has answered. I have ripped up the carpet until I got to the panels under the console (under the instrument panel on one side and the glove box on the other). The panels are wood covered with carpet and they have the speakers installed from a PO. Each of the panels as 4 bolts visible from under the consoles and protrude through the fiberglass and into the seat back cushion for the bow seating. See pictures below. I removed all 4 of these bolts but the panel is still rigidly stuck in place. How do I remove it? What else is holding it in place?
Also, I'm removing the gunnel side panels to replace the carpet and cannot figure out how to remove them either. I removed the nuts from 2 bolt studs that appear on the inside of the gunnel storage shelf but the panels are still held in place. There is lots of spray on insulation that I don't want to remove unless I have to. Please help! Here's the link to my restoration post if you're interested:
