I was directed to your thread, I have a 22' 76 SS and want to put a bracket on similar to yours. I dont suppose you have the dimensions of the bracket, also when talking about raising X inches based on setback are you actually mounting the bracket higher to accomplish this. My boat currently has a giant splashwell (36 inches deep) I'm looking to eliminate. I plan on putting a newer 115 hp on so I want the setback in order to fully trim the unit up. Thanks

Sorry for the delayed reply, I don't get email notifications from iboats for some reason.

I do have dimensions but will have to get back to you next week as I'm out of town right now.

If your going with a full flotation bracket you want it mounted as low as possible to utilize the flotation capacity. Motor height is determined by setback and the bracket is built so you have enough height for your mounting holes.

I believe my bracket is 24" setback but will have to double check. I can fully tilt the 175.

Hey guys, just thought I'd drop in with an update on the Islander. Its been a while and there's been quite a additions, mainly fishing related. There's a 250 Etec hanging off the back now along with some track systems and a lot more rod holders. More electronics and a kicker throttle control. Its also a Michigan DNR inspected charter boat as I'm running fishing and duck hunting charters here in MI on the great lakes with it.

There probably won't be many more major upgrades, things are just about dialed in now lol

Adam,

I’m currently working on my 83’ Islander, converting the I/O to an outboard with the intentions of installing a 250 Merc. I’m running a full length bracket as well.

How has your additional bracing for the transom and stringers held up?

Any issues or things you may have done differently?
