Hello Silverliners!

I thought I'd post up about my boat. It's a 1971 Silverline 165T Comoro.
Previous owner redid the carpet and upolstery, not really stock but functional. The back was redone from jump seats to a 1-piece sundeck, similar to the Samosa option in the catalog. We enjoy the boat but have many more hours in repairs than on the water this year.

While trying to run at night I left the plug out and took on some water. Now
I am nervous because I see some fiberglass delamination at the transom and am pretty sure I got water into the floatation/bilge area under the floor. The boat has been unplugged and draining for a couple weeks.

Short of doing a rebuild like the famous Skanky Beast, how does one begin to assess the damages caused by age and water? I don't see any hatches to below deck and only one drain so far, although the word on the Silverline yahoo group is that there is more than one for the I/O style boats.

Is it time for core samples and cut-outs in the floor?
