i just got done rebuilding my first outboard its a 1955 7.5 hp evinrude when I found it it was locked up.i put on some new rings and it freed right up so i soaked and rebuild the carb put a gasket kit on put on a new impeller put on new points and condesors new plug wires and got it all back...
i want to hone the cylinders on one of my old outboards i was told a rigid hone would be much better to use then a ball hone.does anyone have any suggestions on where to get the stuff for honing.and whats everything i am going to need
my 1952 johsnon has 50 psi compression on each cylinder is there hope for it?can it be rebuild and saved?it starts right up and runs well just many many hours of fishing i suppose.
my 1952 only will start if you spry a little carb cleaner in the carb is this ok?I would think its better to have a outboard addicted to carb cleaner then starting fluid?
