    Speed Plateaus at 5200rpm

31.5mph@5650rpm with 3 blade 13.5"x14 alone, flat water. 30.5mph@5950rpm with 4 blade 13.25"x13 with wife and slight chop Those are my latest numbers with the motor moved all the way up to last holes. No ventilation on turns with either prop. Ventilation plate is 1.5-2" above hull.

40 HP 4 stroke mercury Bigfoot.

15 Spline. The 40 and the 60 are the same engine just a different computer tune from what I understand. My 2014 60hp bigfoot came with the 4 blade Mercury Spitfire 48-8M8026570. Hard to know if thats what you have or not though.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

30.5mph@5950rpm with the small diameter Solas 4 blade 13 pitch, the transducer doesn't care for the extra turbulence though but looks like this is the best prop for my setup. A jackplate should take care of the transducer issue but Im nervous about the extra transom torque on a non replaced 2014...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Ok so motor is now on the bottom holes, so all the way up. The anti-ventilation plate is now about 1.5-2" above the bottom of the hull. Flat water and just myself in the boat this morning gave me 31.5mph@5650RPM with the 14 pitch solas 3 blade. So I am now at least in the "safety zone" but with...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

    13.5" for 14 pitch, 13.75" for 13 pitch

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

The Lund dealer called me yesterday and told me to move the motor up two more holes which will be the last holes. Probably a manual 4" Jack plate would be ideal but unfortunately I don't have enough time to get it in, installed and tested before another week long trip on a big lake. So I am...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

I was in a 3 day fishing tournament last weekend on Lake Winnipesaukee and swapped props each day. I put on roughly 15 plus miles per day. On the 13 pitch prop I had to manipulate the throttle and trim to stick around 6000rpm and had to keep adjusting as the water conditions changed...islands...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Vessel view goes through the phone app via Bluetooth. I have vetted out the speed with the Waze app which is also vetted out to the speed on both my vehicles which are calibrated through two other separate software with obd2. The speed is accurate.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

MPH and RPM comes straight from live Vesselview. The motor is in excellent shape and only has 120 hours on it now. The kicker is, with this motor, this boat at weight is only about 30mph give or take no matter what. With a non command thrust you can squeeze out a little more. This is based on...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Lol yup this must be my first rodeo trimming an engine to get the most out of it 😂 I invite ANYONE on this forum to join me on my boat, prove me wrong, show me anything that is being done wrong or different from anything I have stated in this thread. We can even put some money on it, I could...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

And once again, the MPH proves none of that to be the case, at least with the Solas props.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Dropped my phone mid sentence and it sent. You get the idea but look at the rpm difference from the 14 to 15 pitch... It's not 200 rpm.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Lol no offense but if you don't know what vesselview is and your telling me to get my rom from a mechanical tach that is literally calibrated from vesselview I have a hard time taking advice from you. The 13 pitch prop is too little prop, its not blowing out, its hitting the rev limiter which is...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Nope, if you had read, the numbers came from the vesselview not a tach. Also the top speed I am getting is about all this boat does with a 60 bigfoot. Even matches up with all the prop calculators. The people with the same boat but the regular 60 instead of the Bigfoot get a few mph more but...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Very similar results with two different manufacturers props. Turning point was worse than Solas though.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Both of the Solas are identical and no ring. They come with hub already in them. The turning point props had same hub and they did have a sealing ring. Turning point told me they have seen my results several times before. Look at the speed numbers. It's not blowing out lol.

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Ok I am resurrecting this thread. I have done a lot more testing on this at normal full fishing weight capacity and two new Solas Amita 3 props. I also moved my engine up one hole and the anticav plate is just a touch above the bottom of the hull, like 1/16"-1/8". 13 pitch is 29.5mph...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

I could not find any reference to that bore sleeve on any of the 40-60hp bigfoots. Here is a pic without the prop and one of the Hustler with the ring they put on the prop for that area. I have a 13.5"x 14" pitch Solas prop to try and it does not have that ring but the prop is tighter tolerance...

1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

Oh interesting I will have to look into that. The motor is a 2014. Any idea if that is in the effected range?
