    Bimini top question

My previous boat, a 1987 Rinker V190, had a convertible top. If you can find one or have one made it will protect you from the wind and rain. It had the side curtains. Just fold down your bimini and put on the convertible top.

Am I the only one considering back to back vs pedistal seats?

If there is enough room I would only put B2B on the port side. That leaves you with the room on the starboard to still put the cooler where it is in your pic. That's how my old Rinker was set up.

    Bunk Carpet

I am probably going to change my bunk carpet this winter. I have found that some have a rubber backing and some have an acrylic backing. Any pros or cons on either of these types?

Just acquired a 170 Horizon. Assembly required.

The carport idea is a good one. It won't keep you warm in the winter but will keep you and the boat dry. It is a lot easier to get in and out of the boat than removing the cover a million times. Here is mine with my previous boat.

Need advise on how to setup bunks on trailer.

You can trry to install bunks on the side. That will help keep the boat centered as you load it on the trailer.

Inconsiderates at the ramp and maybe just stupid people--I guess a rant

To make it easier for me to power launch and load, when I am alone, I put some bow steps on my trailer.

    transducer cable adapter

I have a Lowrance Elite 4x-hdi fishfnder right now. I just ordered a Garmin 741xs and want to use the transducer cable from the fishfinder on the 741xs. The 741xs uses 8-pin connections. The transducer cable has 5 pins but room for 7 pins. Is there an adapter I could get that would make the...

    PT Boat cruise

The admiral and I are driving to NOLA in a few weeks for a 4 day weekend. We are thinking of taking a cruise on the recently rebuilt PT 305. It is a 45 minute cruise on Lake Ponchatrain and the normal fee is $350 each. Since we are both older than dirt we get a discount so the price is $305 per...

    Trim/tilt switch on motor 2002 Suzuki DF140

The trim/tilt switch on the remote control works fine. The switch on the side of the engine works fine going up. Going down it only works when it feels like it. I assume the relay is fine as it does work from the remote control. Any ideas why it won?t go down on the engine switch? I could...
