    I inherited a 22’ Slickcraft 225 chev OMC so sold the Glassply. OMC runs strong but would like to get a donor Which will be a topic for another day. Motor is strong but would like to transition it to mercruiser if I can find a similar Mercruiser motor and key to prop tip setup.

    I got fed up with it and dropped it off at the shop today. I did buy a new stainless relief valve and if you can believe it only 1/2 of the first oring to go in was left on it. So ya 1/2 the smallest ring is rolling around in there somewhere. Brand new and the oring crapped out.

    One more rookie question subbing an entire 4.3 setup for the 470 would require what engine support adapts? I’ve been getting some mixed answers, and boat is 19.5 and a heavy hull. I also have a line on a 165 Mercruiser. What about it for engine support adapts?

    From Mercruiser 170. What's the simplest different mercruiser engine to drop in if there is one where the engine would bolt up to the 170 throughhull and drive? Or simplest total replacement with minimal stringer and engine mount add ons? Thanks.
