The injectors can be removed and mailed to an injector service that will test and clean each one and return to you by mail….You can research these services on line…..

    Boat slow

Well whatever the speed is or was, you can tell it’s a good bit slower… My first guess is a plugged injector causing you to lose power on that cylinder. I’m guessing you have no tachometer to check your rpm’s?

    1997 Yamaha 200hp 2 stroke

With lower unit off, turn prop shaft by hand and manipulate shift lever on top of lower unit until neutral is found….then re-assemble lower unit onto motor…this may fix your problem.

    2008 Yamaha 90TLR fuel filter

That filter is fine, but maybe you should just go ahead and install the Atwood fuel/water seperater cartridge type filter on your transom…..it will stop water as well as any particulate matter. Walmart sells them for about $25 and easy to install….

Deformed water pump housing, sign of overheat?

Maybe motor was run dry for a few seconds at some point in time…I once forgot to hook up the water to the motor and in about 20 seconds my impeller and plastic body showed signs of melting/overheating….I just replaced both items for about $60….helps me remember now to hook up water!

    Transom savers

Yep, but I guess the purpose of the wood might be to raise the motor a few inches so to provide clearance over road debris or going in/out of driveways and the like…

    Transom savers

Maybe for a light motor like the 9.9 HP you can just put a section of 2x4 wood between the motor and transom held in place with a bungee cord….

    1.75hp Tanaka questions

Yep,I noticed that piece was missing….but I doubt water is getting in motor enough to cause motor to run bad….but maybe fabricate some kind of elbow or pipe to clamp on just to be sure. Make sure your spark plug is clean with no carbon build up….some spray carb cleaner and an old toothbrush works….

    1.75hp Tanaka questions

That looks like the idle control screw….maybe adjust your throttle cable to have just a bit of play in it and then adjust your idle with the screw..

    1.75hp Tanaka questions

Maybe the screw you turned is the fuel mixture screw….set it back where it was…maybe your idle control is in the control cable or a different screw…

    1.75hp Tanaka questions

I guess you could run the kill button wires and button out to the tiller arm so you can shut off motor more easily….did you get your idle down low enough so the centrifugal clutch is dis-engaged when throttle is closed?

    1.75hp Tanaka questions

That little screw on the side of carb should be idle adjustment….it runs right on the carb slide….in is higher idle, out is lower….
