2003 Sea Pro 170CC

I just acquired a new to me 2003 Sea Pro 170CC. I have, what appears to be, 2 mounting bases of some sort left and right of the main seating area. They do look like seat bases, but all the seats I know, require female seat bases. Is this something else?

Can't think of anything fish related ( downriggers ,outriggers , planer board mast , etc. ) that would fit over that toe busting pedestal. All I can think of is a bar stool type set up that would slip over it and get locked into position with two of the holes in the rod itself . You can see the wear mark going around the base indicating something thicker than a aluminum tube going over it .
