I got my old boat back and got motor running again. Is there suppose to be exhaust and water spray coming out of big hole on top. I replaced head on it before i got rid of it and people i got it from didnt do anything to it.
I just bought this boat its a 14' blue star and has a mercury 200 20hp on it. My question is should this motor be able to get this up to plane with 2 adults and 2 kids weighing total of 600lbs. It has a wake with it but i feel it should be faster then it is.

i was told to come here to see what model of mfg i have, i have a thread in the restoration forum titled 'my first boat 1962 mfg' i managed to find the metal plate on the back and it has mfg on it and 1462-1395 under it. i belive the first two are the year and length but whats the 1395?:confused:

i found the aluminium tag on boat it says mfg and under that reads 1462-1395. the 14 is how many feet and 62 for the year but what is the 1395 the serial number or is the whole thing the serial number. i ended up useing maquires plastx on the windshield it came out...
