The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.

Hi Everyone,
Just like to say I agree with Jiggy as regards my original dimensions for the floor being a little tight on the sides.
I've made a couple of floors since and have experimented to see what works and you can definitely get away with knocking an inch or two off the...
I've been there with everything in the boat and nowhere to move. I found these mods made a big difference, especially if there's 2 on the boat fishing.
This customised transom with bolt on arms gets your roads out the boat. You can also fix your own sonar there with a little tweaking.
And...
I think it was Jiggy who asked about how my custom transom was holding up and I mentioned I'd made some small modifications and would post pics when I had them. Top half is my original 2 rod setup. Bottom shows how I managed to cram in a third 7 foot rod. So long as the first 2 are positioned...
Hi Jiggy,
The custom transom mod works great, and I say that because I haven't been motivated to conceive a new version. It holds the engine, sonar and now three rods. I basically attached one of those expandable wall clips people use for hanging garden tools against the wall. This allows me...
I think everyone when they first get their Mariner 4 become obsessed with protecting the boat from the slightest scratch, which is only natural I guess. But having owned mine for a couple of years and used it countless times on the rugged glacial lochs here in Scotland, I have to say it really...
My advice to you is stick with a two section floor for stability and weight distribution, otherwise you risk catastrophic consequences along the floor seams. Here is specs for two piece setup.
Yes Kingfisher, 36".
And I said I'd post some pics next time I was out with a friend to show the 2 man four rod set up.
In the next one you can better see the 'bow board' which allows me to set up two more rod holders.
Side view. The 'bow board' really allows you to get junk olff the...
Few days ago someone messaged me for measurements on my custom motor mount. I told him I'd post details on the main board in case anyone else was interested.
So I took a few pics to outline what's involved. First of all here are the overall measurements.
And this is how I usually start...
"Hey Scottish thanks for the detailed report, I was wondering if you could post a pic of the otherside of the hinged floor if you still have it (would like to see the type of hinge and spacing you used)."
In response to KingPheonix, here's a pic of the underside of the disastrous hinged floor...
"The leak did cause me to regret the original use of OSB for my flooring material...never dried out, absorbed a bunch of water and nearly doubled in thickness..thus increasing the weight considerably..So I have been there done that badge of honor also!!!LOL"
Yes I believe it is a very unique...
~Why did you decide to not use all the slats? Are the two mating sections of the floor boards flush with each other with the sole support slat?
If you keep all the slats and add the ply, that creates pressure on the sides once the boat and keel are inflated. The ply is meant to replace the...
"Scottishscript~ so what did you end up doing with the floor situation. Greg_S said he uses two unconnected boards and did not report any stress issues with the boat. Was it the hinge which caused the boat to stress and rip? I was thinking of doing as Greg_S advised but don't want to trash the...
Hi Everyone,
Just a 'quick' comment to one, introduce myself, and two see if I can actually figure out how to post here as I'm not too experienced on forums.
I decided almost a year ago to buy a dinghy here in Scotland to expand my pike fishing ambitions. I spent a few weeks scouring the web...
