Use small ( maybe 1/8 inch) stainless steel screws and lock nuts with a couple of stainless steel fender washers(about 1 inch in diameter)…one washer on the inside and one on the outside of the hull. .Ace Hardware has a great variety of stainless fasteners
A small glass jar of muriatic acid( hydrochloric) and an old toothbrush to apply to corroded area….rinse with fresh water as quickly as possible after the acid foaming action loosens the parts….after you’re done spray rinse area very well, dry with compressed air and spray entire area with white...
Buy a $15 Harbor Freight Spark Plug Cleaner/Sandblaster…..keeps carbon off plugs and like new…..I’m still running the original plugs in my 1999 C90 Yamaha…..they don’t wear out….
The injectors can be removed and mailed to an injector service that will test and clean each one and return to you by mail….You can research these services on line…..
Well whatever the speed is or was, you can tell it’s a good bit slower…
My first guess is a plugged injector causing you to lose power on that cylinder. I’m guessing you have no tachometer to check your rpm’s?
With lower unit off, turn prop shaft by hand and manipulate shift lever on top of lower unit until neutral is found….then re-assemble lower unit onto motor…this may fix your problem.
That filter is fine, but maybe you should just go ahead and install the Atwood fuel/water seperater cartridge type filter on your transom…..it will stop water as well as any particulate matter. Walmart sells them for about $25 and easy to install….
Maybe motor was run dry for a few seconds at some point in time…I once forgot to hook up the water to the motor and in about 20 seconds my impeller and plastic body showed signs of melting/overheating….I just replaced both items for about $60….helps me remember now to hook up water!
Yep, but I guess the purpose of the wood might be to raise the motor a few inches so to provide clearance over road debris or going in/out of driveways and the like…
Yep,I noticed that piece was missing….but I doubt water is getting in motor enough to cause motor to run bad….but maybe fabricate some kind of elbow or pipe to clamp on just to be sure. Make sure your spark plug is clean with no carbon build up….some spray carb cleaner and an old toothbrush works….
