    Milky gear lube thru coupler

    Last 2 trips out had gear lube in bilge . First trip of about 15 miles. Checked outdrive and was 5 oz. low . I flushed and filled with new lube.     restrictor instead of thermostat

    1985 Chris Craft Scorpion 186. 230hp 305. I bought recently and was told thermostat was removed and restrictor installed . no cooling issues. runs between 140 - 160 depends on load. My question is if restrictor is working is thermostat needed?

    tach reading wrong

    73 135 Johnson , What should AC voltage be on gray tach wire? Or what would HZ be? Tach only goes to 3 grand but idle rpm is ok . Tried another tach same thing. Is charging and rectifier test ok Tach is set to 12 poles . Any ideas?

    1973 135hp johnson idle issue

    do these motors run rich at slow speed and idle. Hard to get engine at smooth slow speed or loads up while idling . not anything to bad , plugs burning well .Carbs clean and synced.

    Tach/Charging.

    My tach only reads to 3000 rpm. Tested rectifier has nothing in any direction. Test shows open , but engine charges fine , is this possible?
