Hey buddy! Thought I'd pop in and see if you ever splashed. Glad to at least see you're still on it.

1977 Sylvan Sea Monster Side Console Rebuild

I set aside the entire day yesterday to finally tackle cleaning my work shop so I could actually use it for something other than a storage room. One thing I managed to locate was the original capacity plate. I thought it was lost for good, and had a new one produced last Summer. I used the...

    Falsies

Curious, how many have full dentures. I'm well into the process now with only 12 teeth left to pull. My mouth has been horrible for years and decided last Spring to find my options. With the blessings of my dentist of the past 30 years, I became a patient at the renowned Marquette University...

    1985 Smoker Craft Pro Angler

Not going to make any commitments on this one until I get it home in the Spring and clean it out. . It has been given to me, so I have no skin in the game. It's 16-1/2 foot with built in live wells and nice deep V. Biggest problem I see is the idiot who removed the old transom opened it up...

1977 Sylvan Sea Monster Side Console Rebuild

Not a good start to the weekend. High winds overnight brought down two more trees, this time crashing through the custom curved fence around the pool area. Grandson Daniel and I designed and built that 8 years ago one picket at a time to achieve the flowing height variations and curves...

1977 Sylvan Sea Monster Side Console Rebuild

Guess I had a few things to be thankful for yesterday. #1 that no one was badly injured and #2 there wasn’t more damage. We had high winds Wednesday gusting to 45-50MPH. As I walked out to put up the flag yesterday morning, something didn’t look right. I then realized a 75ft pine tree had...

    Dumb thing of the day

Three years ago we had a bad storm that took out a 3ft dia oak which had a hughe branch on the edge of my roof. I got out the chain saws and pole saw and went to work. By mid afternoon the second day I had gotten things cut back enough that I felt pretty good. That oak had a fork with 18"...

Two Crestliner aluminum projects I looked at today.

The '74 was advertised as an 18ft, but knew it wasn't more than the 17ft Nordic when I went to look since they didn't make an 18ft aluminum in '74. Unfortunately it was the 16ft Dane. I hate when peeps don't have a clue what they're selling. Not worth it to me to build up another boat just to...

Got tired of looking at the rust on the old Jeep I picked up for the boat, so sent it off to a body and paint guy for some work. Nice to have the rust gone.

As much as I love the retracting tie down ratchet I have for the boat transom, I found out this morning how dangerous they can be. Apparently the hook slipped out of the hole on the far side and when I pushed the retract button to take up the slack before ratcheting it tight the hook came flying...

Very very frustrated, The only thing I wanted to accomplish yesterday after work was to calibrate and install the new tachometer. After testing a new multimeter with Frequency setting earlier in the week and finding it WAY off, I reported it to the seller and they sent a replacement. Meanwhile...

1977 Sylvan Sea Monster Side Console Rebuild

I panicked when the adjustable hole saw I was using went haywire and screwed up my oak dash while getting ready to install a tachometer.. After a few words I won't repeat, I cooled down and decided to make a black plastic bezel that will hide my screw up and be held in place by the tach.
