Volvo Penta 5.0 EFI Ford (1995) Hard to Start When Warm

Rebuilt is better than new Chinese junk, so you're probably in great shape.

Volvo Penta 5.0 EFI Ford (1995) Hard to Start When Warm

Oh hell no. LOL. Not when I did it. Accel injectors from Summit Racing for me. Summit also has our low and high pressure Carter fuel pumps. Hope Prince2e did something similar.

Volvo Penta 5.0 EFI Ford (1995) Hard to Start When Warm

I've got a 1995 5.8Fsi that had this. New injectors did the trick for me. I've also seen where the low pressure pump gets super hot (most likely partially clogged) and has problems on hot starts.

    5.8l efi idles too fast

Under the upper plenum (manifold). Just need an OBD tester. They are pretty cheap on Amazon. Here's the one I use. Is your boat OBD 1 or OBD 2? My 95 is OBD 1 and OBD 2 was already around in the automotive world, but the boating industry has a tendency to lag behind...

    5.8l efi idles too fast

This guide was put together by the PCM guys, but 99% of the info is relevant to you. I've got all the VP hard books for our engines, but this is more handy. Here's my dropbox link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vf59bqelcsjfefz/Pro_BOss_GT-40_Service_Manual.pdf?dl=0

Carb cleaner or brake cleaner. There are a number of vacuum lines on the underside of the intake plenum that can be hard to see that can have a cracked vacuum hose or dry rotted vacuum caps. You don't need to spray tons, but if you shoot it in a certain area and your idle changes, you have found...

Volvo Equivalent to '95 OMC Ford 5.0 EFI Multi-port Engine?

The only problems these ECM's sometimes run into is leaking capacitors that can easily be replaced. I pulled mine apart to inspect and take photos of all of the capacitors. I had none leaking and the inside of my ECM was spotless. But now I have a spare set of capacitors. These ECM's can be...

    volvo penta parts

The marine dealer is putting on the marine price. Some parts unique to boats - that's justified. Your IAC is a common automotive part. Nothing marine about it at all. I typically use Rock Auto for parts like this.

    Flooded boat

If you never ran it with the water in the oil, do an oil change and new oil filter, put a new battery in it and run it for a bit. It's probably fine. As far as selling it goes, it's probably not even worth bringing up.

Regal Commodore 2665 5.7OSXI, engine will not start, making NO turn over noise when turning key.

Post this in either the Volvo Penta forum. You will have much better luck. This isn't a Regal specific issue.

Breakers good? They can be really hard to press in if one popped. Check them if you haven't already.

Need Help on 5.8fsi Couple of Issues

Who's gaskets are you using? Have part numbers? Are you using any sealant in conjunction with your gaskets? Can you pinpoint your leaks using starting fluid or brake cleaner?

volvo 125B over heats out on plane

"When I tried to run the boat in a tub that goes up half way up the lower unit it wont suck the water up. But with the boat in the water it will suck it up". You still have a leak in the leg. I would say the water level in the tub isn't high enough. When in the tub, mark the water line with a...
