Pool noodles don't work well. There are several threads about that topic here on iboats.
The extruded type works very well, although gasoline will eat it up immediately. This is how I sealed mine against gasoline in my Kingfisher. The blue blocks are actually pink, but placed inside HDPE...
Thanks for the info! At the moment, I have my eyes on what appears to be a 1991 175HP. It's been "pending" sale for about 5 days now and it's far away. I'm not sure that I'll try to move forward with it, but hopefully that year will be okay. 🤞

Absolutely! That's why I bought a new 2022 car in 2021 with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. No worries there. It could very well be my last vehicle.

I was going to buy an electric Ryobi 54" ZTR last year, but we spent the money on my wife and the boy to go to the Philippines on vacation for a month instead. Could have bought two ZTRs for that much! 💸 :LOL:
You guys are getting me chompin' at the bit for an XR6 now! There's one that comes with an old bass boat that I don't want or need, but it's several hundred miles away! And it's also had "some work" (larger jets plus exhaust work) done on it to further increase performance. :eek:

I'm very lucky that my Merc repair shop does indeed work on the old stuff. It's a Dad & Son place, and the old man has a wealth of knowledge which he's passing down to his son. I have a good relationship with them and they've helped me a lot. They'll guide me...
