I have a 1990 Baja 19' with 4.3 yamaha i/o. Currently running 13.25x19 prop, have access to a 14.5x17 prop. Would this be a good choice for pulling? Any problem with going to larger diameter prop?

Re: Yamaha outdrive prop question

If both are 3 blade props and of the same manufacturer, the 13 1/4 diameter is usually a "V4" style prop while the 14 1/2 is usually a larger spline diameter for the "V6". Just see if it fits the splines and the blade tips have ample clearance under the anti-ventilation plate.

Good luck!

Re: Yamaha outdrive prop question

I have a Ebbtide 18 ft. Run about with the same I/O. I have both a 17 and 19 Al prop for it. The 17 does help with pulling but I don't think it is that much differant to me anyway. It will bounce off the rev limiter with the 17 if you let it though.
