I am hoping santa will bring me
a set of snow chains for my truck
and, or a new bait casting reel to
replace the one that went down the
ice hole last year :(

I want a 9-wt flyrod with reel and line. I have it all marked in Bass Pro catalog and have left it open on the table many times as well as said ALL I want is the flyrod setup. Most likely I will get some BS gimmick presents but I still hold out hope because one year mom bought me a drift sock and my birthday has been pretty good the past couple of years with a GPS unit and a good flyrod last year.It is just Christmas that has been a little off.

I'm going with Tacklewasher. That's the best fishin' gear I've seen all year.

Oh, BTW, I'm getting a new Garmin handheld GPS!.

Would trade it for some of the new fishin waders from the site listed above!

dang miloman, talk about overkill.....just kiddin

PFB, it seems you need to properly train your wife & kids.... you got to tear out the page, staple your credit card and layaway receipt to it, THEN lay it on their pillow, with a note "DAD's Christmas Present"... man i thought all married men knew this

I take the Bass Pro Shops book and put page markers on the pages with stuff I want. Then I take a highlighter and mark the item number for the items I like. This year’s list included BPS Extreme Rods and Reels, another tackle bag, more tackle, and what ever else she comes up with maybe a GPS.

Last year I got a custom crankbait rod with a G-Loomis blank, Abu Garcia EON reel, loads of MIZMO flipping tubes and bandit crankbaits.

As far as I am concerned Christmas came early for me. I got a new Yamaha outboard for my boat.

I will have to say that my Wife does a great job shopping for me.

PS – I have done my part to. She got a new car. :D

I got some great stuff last year. Shimano Stradic reel on a St Croix Avid rod. This year, I had to go with the present that will help me get out fishing more by keeping the other half happy, and making it easier to get free time. Portable dishwasher. Regular dishwashers are cheaper, but we don't have the rom to build one in. Ours will cosat too much to repair and has just been taking up space for the last 1.5 years. I sure did want some boat seats though. I think that may be in line for my birthday.

Re: x-mas for fishermen

The problem is not that she is not trained well but that she and the kids don't think that giving daddy just one thing will make him happy the kids especially think each one has to get daddy something and since everything anyone can get for me that I will like and use is a little expensive I get 3 gifts for the price of the 1 I really wanted. It's not really too bad a trade off because we limit how much total gets spent on each of us so we can spend more on the kids.

yep PFB i know we used to do the same to/for my pop. poor guy. i think he had to store his extra socks in a chest in the attic. at least that way each child can identify with a specific, personal item...
