I am getting into the marina business and was considering carying the valvtect fuel. I have only one tank and currently have 87octane.

My question is do you guys think having the marine specific fuel would be a plus? do any of you guys use or go out of your way to get this stuff?

Any input would be helpfull, I just want to offer what people want.

i don't know about other trailer boaters or day boaters, but i usually launch with a full load of fuel. so i just get that at the gas station. when i do need fuel on the water. i've found that just finding fuel is the biggest problem. when ya need fuel, a marina with fuel is where yer gonna go. what ever fuel the marina has is what ya get. along with everyone else. if i had the choice of fuels. i reckon i'd be in heaven. as for the valvtect fuel. marine fuel (didn't know there was a marine spec. fuel available). i don't know that fuel. so you'd probably have to tell (sell) me about it before i would introduce into my toys (unless that's all ya had). i am a maintianer type of boat owner, not modifyer type. in other words i try to go by what my manufacture specifies for my toy. oem. ususally, ;)

I am getting more info an the Valvtect fuel...but I think the fuel is pre mixed with additives that will preserve the fuel (boats can sit around for a while inbetween uses) and help keep carbs clean and that sort of stuff. Dont quote me on this.

If anyone out there knows more....

http://www.valvetech.net/

Try this site for info on the fuel you mention. Personally, I've never heard of it. Like Ziggy, I get it before launching and then take what you can get on the water. M.

That is some military looking link, This is the link to their web site www.valvtect.com

I have discovered that it is in fact an additive helpful if you dont use the boat but once a month. The bonus is aparently in the marketing.

it would be something to charge more for i guess and fuel on the water already cost ALOT more then gas on the way to the ramp but if you sell it i'm sure there would be some sucker who would buy it because the name sounds hightech

Chances are if they have the boat in a slip, they will use it more often then someone who trailers the boat, I dont think they would see any bonus to using the more expensive gas, thats my thoughts anyways.

You dont need to answer if you dont want, but is the profit better on the valvtect vs regular gas? Just curious is all,

-John

Re: would you like this better?

well I got som info on the stuff and it does sound good, I dont have any sound figures on the prices but they say that the margins are higher and the cost is less (for the fuel, I guess , they go through your distributor), if so it seems like a good idea...It really does soundlike good stuff , 5 points on the octane rating and cleaner burning. they have a contract that I am not sure that I want to get into now tho.
