I own a 14'x70" flat bottom AlumaCraft with 1995 40hp Tohatsu #M40C two cylinder,prop is 10.2x13.9, gear reduction ratio is 13:25,rpm range is 5200 to 5800,weight is 135lbs and load I'm pushing 1005 lbs total,cavatation plate is 1/2" lower then bottom of boat. Not sure of rpm I'm running at WOT,but getting 30mph now.Can I use a 11x 15 prop recomended for M40D three cylinder or what do you guys suggest.Would like to get 35mph out of her.<br /> Thank you!<br /> Mike E

You don't mention if this is a tiller or remote control unit. If it is remote raise the engine at the transom 1 hole. If it is tiller loosen the clamps and raise it about an inch and then see what happens.If you have no ventilation in turns or anywhere else this may give you what you are looking for.

Invest in a tachometer before you change the prop.
