When I connect the positive lead to my battery <br />all the wires around the motor start smoking. I made sure the battery wires are the POSITIVE and NEGATIVE.
sounds like a positive wire in the harness is grounded, causing a direct short when you hook up the battery, might want to check for that before hooking up that battery again
