Some of you have seen this before, most of you have not.

Pay attention and are very patient. Give it a try:
There are 5 houses in 5 different colors in a row.
In each house lives a person with a different nationality.
The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain type of pet.
No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.

Other facts:
The Brit lives in the red house.
The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
The Dane drinks tea.
The green house is on the immediate left of the white house.
The green house's owner drinks coffee.
The owner who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
The owner living in the center house drinks milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
The owner who keeps the horse lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill. The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.
The German smokes Prince.
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who drinks water.

The question is : WHO OWNS THE PET FISH?

Took about half an hour but I got the German too.

Now my head hurts.

Einstein said 98% of people wouldn't be able to solve that problem - go have a drink to celebrate your newfound top 2% status!

I had to draw a chart - being a visual type of guy I can work things out better if I can see the patterns drawn out.

I needed to draw a chart also. Did einstein say which percentage of the 2 percent would use a chart?

It can't be the German because he has a horse. I says it either the Dane or the Norwegian. It also depends on whether the first house is one the far right side of the row or the far left side of the row.

It can't be the German because he has a horse. I says it either the Dane or the Norwegian. It also depends on whether the first house is one the far right side of the row or the far left side of the row.

The German can't have the horse because he would have to live next to the Dunhill smoker, who lives in the yellow house.

The white house has to be the one at the far right.

Yah but: one brain cell is only one brain cell. It overheats if I stress it too much, so I only stress it when I need to, not jus' for teasin'.

I take pride in being able to succeed in puzzles like that. I promise that I didn't look through the below posts. German - fish coffee green and prince. Norwegian - cats dunhill yellow and water. dane - horse blends blue and tea. swede - dog bluemasters white and beer. brit - birds pall mall red and milk.
