Which VHF Radio to Buy?

Since I didn't get one for x-mas. I might as well buy it myself and get a good one while I'm at it. I understand the antennae is most important. I want a mounted unit, waterproof would be nice.

I happen to own 2 , Onthe boat I have an Apelco , now Ratheon, It's been on the boat for 3 years, and I have never had any problems with it. I think the best antennas are from "Shakespere", Remember the VHF antennas are a direct line of transmittion, so if you try to transmit too far, or if there is an obstruction in the way of the transmit the call may not go thru. Most are small ,compact, easy to mount, and H20 proof.<br />Go to Boatus.com They a varity to chose from $100.00 And uP. Please don't be a ratchet-jaw, when you use it. Good Luck & Happy New Year.
