My harness and controls are a mess i dont think there salvageable just so many splices and repairs to the line i think its just too far gone. Is there somewhere that makes reproduction parts? Ive had bo luck on ebay or sourcing one used locally. If someone could help me out would be amazing

Does your motor run?----Results of a compression test ?-------That black rubber plug is just a " convenience / time saver " feature.-----You could eliminate that with a terminal strip.-----If in Canada-----evinrudeparts.ca

Compression is good. Its new to me i myself have not had ot run. For the terminal strip does it match colour to colour or will i need to find the diagram to match everything up

Ok so terminal block worked sort of. It turns over now but.... New issue. It turns over without the key? As soon as i touch battery to the cable, starter engaged. Do i have something crossed in the control side in the key wireing maybe

1- key defective
2- wiring mixed up/crossed
3-selenoid stuck (defective)

assuming... condition #3 is not the issue
you need to check the selenoid control post for a +12V ONLY when key is in START otherwise backtrace to find out why

see diagram provided for BASIC layouts

fused +12v purple white to switch BATT post then white S post to selenoid during START only

Connector from controler to motor was bad so after i rewired everything to a terminal block (and fixed the backwards wires at the ignition) and all was good
