Whats the best prop for my 70 merc??????

My boats just about ready to come home from the merc dealer, (the 70 burnt a piston!!!) anyways I want the best performance out of my motor so what prop do I run???? And will it hurt the motor to troll with it??? thanks again for the help

So, my cousin had a pain. . . .here. What's wrong? C'mon Barry. The perfect prop for your motor is the one that allows the engine to reach max rpm with a light load and minimum of the recommended rpm range with full load, on YOUR boat. You NEED to know those numbers!!! Boats aren't cars, and they DON'T forgive ignorance!!! They blow up!!!$$$$. And, occasionally, they KILL people.<br /><br />Please forgive. . . .and understand...the harshness. Your LIFE depends on it.<br /><br />JB

Hey JB thanks for the input, the only problem Iam having is that I am getting so many differant people telling me so many differant props to put on.I DO NOT want to go back to the shop again with a burnt motor.<br /> well I am going down to the shop today and I will talk to the mechanic and see what he says, the motor came with 2 props and I will be putting the right one on... So thanks again JB.... And may your fish net always have big fish....
