What year is this?

I'm looking at a 50 Johnson to buy. But I have to drive 2 hours to see it. He's not sure of the year. He says he thinks it's late 70's. It's one of those round old looking motors. Anybody know what year Johnson made the round motors.

Get him to send you the information on the identification plate for accurate information. Shape of motors can cover a wide range of time. Worse case get him to e-mail you a photo.
