What year & Are lower end units available?

Trying to help out friend in Bahamas who has older Evinrude 55HP (circa 1978?) which needs lower end unit. I cannot seem to find code for year for this engine which is....

Model SR55RSLH
S/N - G 7753070

Also - any ideas if I could find him a lower end unit for it?

i can't find anything. S leads me to be made in the south american plant.

If it is like Usa models the following will work:
1985-1988....40hp
1987-1988....48hp
1976-1988....50hp
1979-1983....55hp
1980-1985....60hp

Tashasdaddy - You may be right as because he may have gotten it from S. America and I too have not been able to find anything using these numbers which I have verified.
Faztbullet - If it is a S. American purchase, do you know if those lower end units you mentioned might work - and if so, where I could find him one?
