My brother,and I caught 50, stripers in 4, hours from 12lbs to 37.5lbs
at Oregon Inlet NC casting Spro bucktails with Hyper Striper tails. I caught
2, 22lb doubles. This was not long after the moratorium ended. I havn't seen any action like that since - probably cause I havn't been back to NC since - sadly to say.

Re: What was your best fishing day?

my best friend and i were out at one of our local lakes, the day started out really slow till the marina opened up and we could get worms. once we started in with the worms we were catching perch and bass on every cast we fished a hole for bout 5 hours and caught almost 150 fish, all catch and release, by far the best day fishing ever... and had a token 4lb rainbow to top off the day.

I thought about it,but there are just to many days to pick one as the best.I think the best day changes all the time if your having fun,and catchin good fish!maybe thats why we love it.

Yeah. Just too many great days on the water to pick just one. Some were great because of where I was and who I was with, others because of great catches. If there was a greatest day it was probably on Lake Of The Woods with my son and grandson loading up on walleyes to eat and some good muskies.

Re: What was your best fishing day?

best day fishing was last year. its a toss up bewteen the first time in 25 years my girlfriend and her father were out on a boat together and the last fishing trip of the season with my father and hers. both times we only caught about 30 perch total( limit is 30 a person). but that didnt matter at all. the only think that mattered was looking back behind me and seeing everyone with this ( life doesnt get better then this ) loook on their faces. i live a blessed life!!!!!
by the way

73 days until the boat comes out of winter storage! and 83 more days until she gets wet!

Far too many to have just one.

The bluefish blitzes on HI back in the late 70's, early 80's.
The six Red Drum over 40? off ?The Point? one evening.
The nine Stripers over 40? hooked up at the same time off Chesapeake Beach with 2 guys onboard.
My first Striper over 50?
The twenty-seven Striper morning that we had off Hooper?s Island Light last December. Two people on board, multiple hook-ups, sixteen fish over 40?, 3 over 45?. Back at the dock before 11 am.
Besting the Maryland State record Red Drum by almost 6#. Didn't count because of the C&R only status of Red Drum over 27".
A second palce finish in the F&F Red Drum tournament a few years back.
Winning the Mid-Atlantic surf fishing championship in Ocean City, Maryland 3 yeas in a row. 2007, 2008 and 2009

One trip in particular that stands out for me was the night before the Rogers City Salmon tourney in about '87/'88. We hooked into a couple 27-28lb Chinook that would have placed in the top ten and meant bragging rights and prizes. Even though we ended up getting into some gil nets that evening was memorable.

Never did get the big ones during the actual tourney, except for a 20lb Atlantic salmon that I caught and took 1st place in that, the minor division of the event. Got 50 bucks and a nice little plaque for that one:)

The trip out in 2009 with my dad and my oldest son, when he caught his first fish, a bluegill at Fletcher's pond, will always rank highly for me as well;)

Fishing for yellowfin got on a school for two hours you could almost pick your fish it was awsome they ran from 35 to 50#. Plus alot of striper trips that turned out great, But this I have to say gave me the best feeling I have ever had fishing and it was the best day to date that I have had.

A couple summers ago, a buddy and I were fishing a little too close below a dam on the monongahela river. NOT good for safety, but man, we were killing the smallmouths. Probably got 30 fish in like 20 minutes. All of 'em around 2 or 3 pounds. Then we got chased off, probably for the best. I never have gone back to that spot, but it sure was memorable

Every fishing day I get is a great day, but I have to admit catching a 400 pound blue marlin was a tough day to beat.

My son catching an almost 8 pound flounder in Brigantine. Meatnormous we called it as we stuffed it into the anchor hole and my son sat on the lid to make sure it wouldn't get out.

Fished a bass tourney with a buddy and won with 17-9 but we caught 34 bass that day. We went back the next day just to fish and fished the same general locations and same way but zeroed out. LOL

Best fishing day was when my grandson caught his first fish on my boat... a salmon to boot... small , but HUGE in his eyes...

Don't get much better than that!

I knew the walleyes were spawing but i didnt know where the creek channel was. well we found it. 25 walleyes within a hour. samllest being 18 in 3 lbs , biggest 34 in 14lber. Man i should have got that one mounted, But they are so delicious. anyways here are some i caught on lake erie, 30 in 12 lbers.

Yep, it was a fun day ... meeting iboats aquaintances and making new friends, watching the littlest aspeck in her first saltwater venture reeling them in (she loved the lizard fish ... go figure), and although we didn't catch any monsters, we had a ball!

Re: What was your best fishing day?

Got to agree with "a bad day at fishing is better than a good day at work". But a great time for me was during a tournament on Douglas Lake in Tennessee. My Buddy and I only caught 5 keepers all day (cold and rainy), thinking this wouldn't do much we went to wiegh in early and to our surprise we took first place and lunker. Took home $400.00 each for that trip. You just never know how much it takes to win until you weigh them in.
