All OMC products from OMC run on 50:1 from 1964 on.------Your 85 Evinrude 15 HP needs to run at 50:1 and 100:1 was a board room blunder.-----Get rid of that 100:1 sticker tomorrow !!----Service bulletin came out years ago to revert to 50:1.

The mixing of oil with gasoline and how a 2 stroke is actually lubricated is not well understood.

I also have a 77 15hp and an 85 15hp.

Both use 50:1. ( I think that 100:1 sticker is hilarious. )

A trick someone taught me to mix ( only works outside of the US)

Fill your tank, and watch the liters.

Take that number and double it.

Then add a zero.

So if you're filling 10 liters . Double it (20) and add a zero (200 ml)

Or if you're filling 20 liters. Double it (40) and add a zero (400 ml)

Foolproof.

And dumping the Oil into a Full tank, ends up will all the Oil at the Bottom, so initially the mix is very heavy with Oil, then a the Tank empties, it leans out to where there is not enough Oil. Rocking the tank does F all when it comes to mixing the oil with the Gas. Same goes for hauling it around on the trailer for hundreds of miles.
