I was told by a Crownline dealer that to correctly time a Thunderbolt IV system, you need to put it a certain mode. He said something about grounding some wire.
My manuel does not talk about this at all. The engine is a 1993 4.3 Liter LX.
Does anyone know what that procedure is?

Re: What is the correct procedure for Thunderbolt IV

I have a clymer manual and it doesn't say anything about special grounding for a Thunderbolt IV ignition system. I have a 94 4.3LX w/ Thunderbolt ignition but I have never tried to time it. The manual says to not to use a timing light with an adjustable spark advance dial. Use a standard timing light. Then time in the usual way. Not much help but like your manual mine gives no indication of special treatment for Thunderbolt ignitions.
