What do you use . And Why .

Took a year to finish a 5 liter (1.3 gallon) bottle of 2 stroke.

Want something better with less smoke. I used regular Castrol from Walmart because it was convenient.

When I owned an Outboard, I always used Oils from the Engine Manufacturers(OMC and Mercury). They are Very Good Oils and don't cost much more than a 3rd Party Oil. As for the smoke, it will help keep the Mosquitos at Bay, and I really like the Smell of Burnt TCW-*

Some will argue that any Oil that meets the TCW-3 spec is fine. Well, it meets a spec that is about 30 yrs old. Manufacturer's Oil will meet, and deliver, whatever their Engines require

Makes sense. You're not saving much by cheaping out. There's something about the smell of 2 stroke smoke first thing in the morning.

What's the difference between regular Johnson Evinrude 2 stroke, XD30 , XD50, and XD100

I use J/E oil for my Merc OB. I like the pale purple fuel color when mixed at 50::1. The Merc has not objected as of yet. I used to use Pennsoil, cause I liked the pale green color. It looked like ocean water.

I use Wallyworld TCW-III in my Johnny with oil injection. I like the bright blue color, and the Johnny has not asked formally for J/E oil.

Use any TCW-III oil that suits your or your machines. J/E oil is $20/G. Wallyworld TCW-III is $14/G.

I slow troll V6 2 stroke V6 outboards for 8-10 hours a day.

Dino oils smoke like a tire fire and load up the engine big time. Have literally had oils residue dripping from the exhaust ports by the end of the day.

Tried a lot of oils over the years. Found nothing that works better in my 200 Ocean Pro than Evinrude XD 50 and Pennzoil Premium Plus.

Both are semi-synthetic oils. Both have decarb additives built into the formulation

The oils used on the E-TEC motors ( 2 stroke ) are not formulated to mix with the gasoline.

I remember seeing that on the XD100 Label when it first came out. Last time I checked(a couple of years ago), that Caveat was no longer on the Label.

Actually I bought it from a guy who sold his E-tec. He replaced it with a 2+2 Merc and didn't think he could use the xd100 in his Merc. Sold me 4 gallons at $25 each. Shows how misunderstood oil is as the XD100 would have worked fine in the Merc.

Early bottles of XD100 had a Warning on the label, not use it as a Premix. More recent bottles no longer have that warning.
