Re: water restriction

First thing we need to answer . Is this motor overheating? If it is not ,keep in mind that your tell tale is just an indicator that you are pumping water,a comfort item if you will, but not the only or major place cooling water exits your block.

low water pressure, constant alarm sounding, if water is splashed on block, what a sizzle, occasionally will go in S.L.O.W. mode on long runs.

Cross flow engine. If you just changed impeller<br />should have remove impeller cup and change o-ring. Remove thermostat cover and loose parts, start engine should have a gusher at 1500/2000 rpms, no gusher back to waterpump. After you get plenty of water at thermostat housing, and it still overheats, remove head replace water deflectors in block, remove water cover on head check clean water passage.

It sure sounds like something with the water pump. Are you certain you've got a good seal at the base of the pump as well as the o-ring at the shaft? If you're sucking air, the pump won't pump properly. Keep us posted.
