last year I purchased a 27' ultra with a V10 viper engine. when I tried out the boat it overheated. the owner had to have a new impeller put in the water pump. It has a external belt driven pump on the frount of the engine. after that it ran fine. took it out once later in the year it was fine. before i took it out for the first time this year i put muffs on it and started it up for a few seconds. went to the lake put it in the lake started it up overheated again. had to have another impeller put in. what gives? thanks

Re: water pump again

Howdy,

it may have been run dry, something is plugging the water intake, and there's probablt previous pump failure remnants downstream of the pump plugging the oil/power steering coolers and restricting water flow.

It doesn't take much.

Cheers,

Rick
