Guys,
I have a 2000 Volvo 5.0 GL engine and I need to do some maintenance. I need to start with changing the oil. Can someone suggest a web site that would tell me the engine oil filter part number as well as the suggested oil weight to use.

Also I haven't had the out drive serviced in 3 years. I keep reading about bellows needing to be changed and I'm not even sure what these are. I've been adding grease to the one site on the side of the outdrive but that's all I've done. I store the boat at the marina on a lift if that matters. Also is there a good service manual for the Volvo's that would show how to remove, service, and replace the outdrive? Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

What is the FULL model number of your engine. Include the letters after the 5.0GL. Having a 2000 boat doesn't mean you have a 2000 engine package.

Unfortunately I do not have that information. The boat is an hour and a half away so I'll have to get that infor when I go back this weekend.

Factory manual, OEM manual, what ever you want to call it, the Volvo manuals come as a set, or seperate, but, you MUST have the model number of your engine to get the correct ones. Unless you like throwing money away.
