I have 89 Johnson on bass boat that we have rehabbed . Having to bypass the VRO. Will this affect the RPM gauge and readings?
Thanks

It’s a project boat. There is no oil revisor no oil line hooked up. It’s been premix. But while fixing the wiring we must have hooked something up that now make it alarm that it’s low oil or wrong mix. We know the mix is correct. So now I want to just bypass that VRO but I wondered if that affects the Rpms.

If the engine has been premix configured the VRO feature is already bypassed (sort of). One side of the VRO pumps fuel. The other side mixes oil with the fuel. With no oil line the VRO electrics is raising the alarm because it is sensing a no oil condition. Unplug the VRO harness. The fuel side is not electric. No more oil related alarms.
